WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF ALOPECIA?

Hair loss can be due to a large number of causes including infections, frequent tugging of the hair, burn wounds, medications and major stressors to the body. However, the most common cause of hair loss is male and female patterned hair loss. We recommend that you consult with our aesthetic medical doctors to determine which type and the best treatment modality for your alopecia.

WHAT IS MESO-HAIR?

Mesotherapy can be used in women experiencing postpartum hair loss, peri-menopausal or menopausal hair loss. This procedure also elicits a very good response in younger men experiencing early stages of male pattern baldness.

MesoHair is the injection of minerals, vitamins and anti-oxidants just under the surface of the skin. The procedure uses very fine needles to infuse products and stimulate circulation and nutrient transfer to the base of the hair follicles to improve hair growth and strength.

The mixture used delivers long-acting neutralizing effects on the DHT hormone produced in the body, allowing for hairs to grow. This is not a cure for hair loss, but certainly a safe, simple, and cost-effective option to treat certain conditions. MesoHair restoration therapy can in some cases eliminate the need for hair transplants.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Increased blood circulation to the scalp.
Induces hair growth by increasing the size of the hair follicle.
Prevents hair loss.
Nourishes and stimulates the hair follicles

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The mesotherapy technique places hair stimulating solutions and vitamins into the scalp at the base of hair follicles, which is much more effective than topical application of medications, as they usually just lie on the scalp and do not touch the base of the hair follicle.
This procedure works for women and men with:
- Stress related hair thinning
- Age related hair loss
- Alopecia
- Women with post pregnancy hair loss
- Male pattern hair loss.

ARE THE EFFECTS PERMANENT?

Yes. Hair will continue to go through the natural phases of turnover as we age but the new hair growth remains intact once it has been stimulated with the mesotherapy protocol.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

It is recommended to perform 2-weekly treatments for 6 sessions, thereafter maintenance treatments can be continued as needed at periodic intervals discussed with each patient based on the results.

WHAT ARE THE PRECAUTIONS?

Do not use aspirin or ibuprofen one week before the treatment.
Do not take a shower or undertake any activity that might cause you to perspire for at least 8 hours post-treatment.
Do not sunbathe for at least 2 days after the treatment.
Never undergo any other treatment directly after a mesotherapy treatment.
Do not wash your hair or apply any type of hair product for at least 12 hours after the treatment.
